8- Creating Entry Pages

Entry pages are very useful to introduce search engines to your dynamic content pages, since search engines and such pages do not really get along very well, you will usually have to create static pages that link to those dynamic pages, in other cases you would want to make entry pages optimized for specific search engines and submitting them to those search engines to properly introduce your website to those engines, this page should link to the rest of your website in a manner that the visitor will clcikl out of the page to a page he has probably been looking for.

Now lets get to making the entry pages

First you would want to create the pages with a keyphrase in mind, a different one for every different page that is, it is also important to make the entry page eye catching, since visitors will start with the entry page, it should catch the visitor's attention so that he will proceed to your other pages.

When writing the page, you should have all the meta tags done in a very professional way (take time to do them especially for this page), dont target more than 5 keyphrases in every entry page, Don't repeat the keywords in the keyword tag, instead look for aliases in the case that the keywords are too few.

And it is extreemly important to remember that the keywords in the meta tag should all be repeated in the page, prefferably in the first paragraph.

Entry pages are made for search engines, you should not have excessive graphics, and especially image maps, No background, Use a solid color or leave it white, No flash, Java or other machene ncomprehendable images, No Java, no redirection refresh tags, no sound, no banners, no hit counters, Just a text page with links to your other pages, remember you are making it with 2 objectives in mind, Eye catching and optimized for the robot.

The keywords in the text of you page should mention the page in many ways, in singular, ploral, other dialect forms, common misspellings and misstypings should occure leter in the page, and the name of the entry page is preferably the most important keyphrase  Words separated by underscores).

A very common thing to do is to post those pages outside your domain, this is a very good idea since many search engines will have restrictions on numbers of pages from same domain, the page should link back to many pages on your website, this will also increase your google pagerank (TM) rankings
